Bamboo Clothing

Bamboo clothing is a type of natural fibre clothing made from the fibers of bamboo. Bamboo fiber is approximately 65% cellulose and 35% pure silica. It can be spun into yarns for use in fabrics or clothes . Pure bamboo fabric has been used to make shirts, pants, underwear, socks and dresses, and more recently has been used to make upholstery and draperies.

Bamboo clothing tends to be soft, relatively lightweight, extremely absorbent of sweat and water, and durable through many launderings. Bamboo fabric is often naturally hypoallergenic (i.e., less likely to cause allergic reactions such as itching or rash) and anti-microbial. In addition, bamboo fabric is naturally wrinkle-free.

The most common bamboo cloth is plain weave in narrow and wide widths, ranging from 35% to 70% of bamboo fibre mixed with cotton, linen, wool, or silk. The clothing can also be knit, crocheted, or woven with a silk or bamboo core yarn.
